Yukon, Oklahoma – Jan. 23, 2023 At the intersection of vintage attitude and cutting-edge innovation sits Viral — the world’s first fully exposed-weave carbon-fibre 1969 Camaro. Created by Finale Speed, this production-ready restomod masterpiece debuted at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, instantly commanding attention from collectors and custom car fans worldwide. Viral isn’t just another custom build — it’s a rolling showcase of what happens when iconic American muscle meets obsessive craftsmanship and modern materials science.
VIRAL: Finale Speed’s Carbon-Fibre 1969 Camaro Rewrites the Rules of Muscle
Viral’s body is a full carbon-fibre work of art — not wrapped, not overlaid — but prepreg, autoclave-cured carbon engineered to OE specs for optimal lightness, rigidity, and durability. The craftsmanship is on full display under a flawless coat of BASF Glasurit Clear, letting the exposed weave steal the spotlight. From LED lighting and flush-mounted glass to bespoke billet handles and hinges, every detail on the exterior is a fusion of form and function. Even standing still, Viral radiates motion.
Under the hood, this beast is powered by a 650-hp GM Performance LT4 crate engine, dressed with a Wegner pulley system and breathing through Ultimate Headers long-tubes and a custom MagnaFlow exhaust setup. Power routes through a Tremec T-56 Super Magnum six-speed, down to a 9-inch rear end with Positraction LSD and Dutchman axles. A VaporWorx fuel system, OPTIMA trunk-mounted battery, and American Autowire harness round out a battle-ready electrical setup. Stopping power is courtesy of Wilwood brakes, clamping down on 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled, and vented rotors. Handling is dialed in with Speedtech subframes, oversized sway bars, and JRi coilovers, wrapped in Forgeline VX3C-SL wheels and Toyo Proxes R888R tyres — 18×10.5-inch up front, 18×12-inch at the rear.
Inside, the carbon theme continues with a rear-seat delete, trimmed in Alcantara for weight savings and style. The custom cabin features TMI VXR seats, Alcantara-lined door panels and headliner, Classic Instruments gauges, and climate control from Old Air Products. The audio system doesn’t miss either, with an Alpine head unit, Mosconi five-channel amp, Focal speakers, and a thumping subwoofer. A custom four-point roll bar ties the interior together with safety and strength.
Finale Speed is redefining what it means to restomod. This isn’t nostalgia with bolt-ons — this is coach-built performance art. With over 2,500 hours poured into each build, Finale’s craftsmen marry heritage with hypercar-level execution. The 1969 Camaro has always been a symbol of American muscle. With Viral, Finale Speed doesn’t just pay tribute to that legacy — they reinvent it for the modern era. Viral is available both as a turnkey performance car or a roller body for those who want to take their own shot at building the ultimate '69.
